INSURANCE RESOURCES
The American Academy of Optometry advocates annual eye medical exams and frequent evaluations for diabetics. Most major medical plans such as those listed here, also stress preventative eye care by allowing for annual exams. If you have a plan such as an HMO that has a stated 2 year benefit, simply request a referral from your primary care physician, and you will be covered for your annual eye medical exam.
These are insurance plans that we participate in. We cannot guarantee payment when we submit a claim to any of these plans as they are subject to co-payments and deductibles set by the individual plans. Deductible information is not readily available to the practice and overall knowledge of your plan, your co-payment, plan details and coverage is ultimately the responsibility of the individual patient.
